Zhi-Jie Zheng, MD, MPH, PhD is K.C. Wong Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Global Health, Peking University (PKU) School of Public Health, Beijing, China. He completed his medical training at Shanghai Medical University and received MPH and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. Before joining PKU in 2017, he served chronologically as an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Preventive Medicine, University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky; as a Lead Epidemiologist and Section Chief in the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, Georgia, and as a Supervisory Medical Epidemiologist and Senior Program Director at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland, USA; and as a University Endowed Chair Professor of Public Health and Medicine, and Dean of the School of Public Health, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. He currently serves as Vice President of the Chinese College of Public Health Physicians, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the China Global Health Network, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Cardiovascular Emergency, Executive Director of the China Resuscitation Alliance and the China Resuscitation Academy, among his many professional services.
