   Nutritional and Functional Food Assessment Center of Peking University

The Nutrition and Functional Food Assessment Center of Peking University was established in 1997.The Center is one of the functional food testing agencies, which are assessed by Ministry of Health of China. The center obtained the Metrology Accreditation Certificate from the National Committee of Certification and Accreditation in 2000. The Center has laboratories for function and toxicology assessment.
The items of testing and assessment for functional food performed by the Center include:
  • Function Testing Items: Enhancing immune, Blood lipids reduction, Alleviating physical fatigue, Weight control, Improving child growth, Memory improvement, Blood sugar reduction, Blood pressure reduction, Increasing bone density, Antioxidation, Improving melancholy and feel anxious, Improving nutritional anaemia,  facilitating lead excretion.
 
  • Toxicological Items: Acute toxicity, Ames test, Micronucleus test, Sperm abnormality, Long-term toxicity study (thirty and ninety days feeding). In addition, the items of Dominant lethal test, Unscheduled DNA synthesis, Teratogenicity study; Reproductive study, Metabolic study, Carcinogenicity study.
Up to now, more than 200 items of functional tests and 500 items of toxicological test have been completed by the Center. The Center also develops functional foods and have been completed some cooperative research works with institutes and companies.
The center also provides services of consult and trainings related to nutrition and functional foods.

   北京大学营养与保健食品评价中心成立于1997年,为国家卫生部认定的第一批保健食品检验机构之一。2000年获国家级计量认证合格证书,并于2005年和2010年通过了国家认证认可监督管理委员会的实验室资质认定(计量认证)复审。中心挂靠北京大学公共卫生学院,设有毒理学实验和功能学实验室,可进行食品、保健食品的毒理学安全性评价和功能学评价。中心至今已完成食品和保健食品的功能学检验项目200 余项,毒理学检验500余项。

 
中心同时开展和承接食品、保健食品的评价和研究开发项目,开展与营养和食品卫生有关的业务咨询和培训等工作。
 
中心通过计量认证,获得向社会出具具有证明作用的数据的食品和保健食品检验项目有:
1. 功能学检验项目
辅助降血脂功能、缓解体力疲劳功能、增强免疫力功能、提高缺氧耐受力功能、减肥功能、辅助降血糖功能、抗氧化功能、缓解视疲劳功能、改善营养性贫血功能、对化学性肝损伤有辅助保护功能、辅助降血压功能、增加骨密质功能、通便功能、对辐射危害有辅助保护功能、促进排铅功能、改善睡眠功能。
2. 毒理学检验项目
急性毒性试验、鼠伤寒沙门氏菌/哺乳动物微粒体酶试验、骨髓细胞微核试验、小鼠精子畸变试验、30天和90天喂养试验、致畸试验、哺乳动物骨髓细胞染色体畸变试验、小鼠睾丸染色体畸变试验、显性致死试验、体外哺乳类细胞(V79/ HGPRT 基因突变试验)TK基因突变试验、繁殖试验、代谢试验、慢性毒性和致癌试验、日容许摄入量(ADI)、非程序性DNA合成试验。
